The Black Rabbit of Inlé
You once were hope, the ground burst to life when you walked upon it. Now it weeps for the death that you bring and the salt you have sown into ruined soil. Tread wise, young child. For the earth is a hungry thing, and we all must return to it at the end of our days.

Sara and I (Anna got sick and couldn’t come with!) visited Moonbot Studios and had the honour of meeting the lovey Sara Hebert and William Joyce.

We were very lucky to see some very exciting projects in pre-production, an animatic and even got to hold the Oscar Mr. Joyce won for the Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Not only that but we also got a sneak peak from the upcoming Jack Frost picture book- which will not come out but until much later. I can only say the wait will be worth it, and I’ll be excited to see all of your reactions to the beautiful illustrations and story, I know I could hardly contain my excitement.

The studio itself is a dream. Very friendly environment and filled with colors and artwork everywhere you looked. This is what I imagined a studio to be like, and then more.

Mr. Joyce is a very genuine man, kind and truly passionate about what he does. Even though he was clearly busy, he made time to see us and was very excited to see the progress we brought him on the Book of Belief- which we can hardly wait to show you as well! Mr. Joyce appreciates everyone’s enthusiasm for the book series and the movie and was moved by the work we’ve all done so far. It made a difference to him and that’s what mattered the most.

As a parting gift, we each received a signed copy of the Sandman book, and a beautiful 24x24 Man in The Moon picture book. A truly fun day.

I’ve received a lot of letters from artists asking to check out their artwork and their blog, and I’ve noticed that a lot of them openly write unhealthy amounts of negative comments about their artwork, it was super depressing, honestly.  :(
Confidence plays a very very important role as an artist, it’s what helps us learn and grow without the constant feeling of doubt and jealousy!  You are a unique individual who must go down your own unique path, and as scary as it sounds, you can’t rely on others to hold your hand all the way through.  You are the only one who can get yourself to where you need to go, and beating up your artwork is not the way!  Trust yourself and your abilities to make a change, and you can do anything!!

Love your art, love yourself!

I was actually going to write a long post about this yesterday, but this lovely comic sums up all my points perfectly! Artists, please read this! It can be hard to break out of your bad “my art sucks” habits, but you gotta try. I used to do that ALL THE TIME, but a few years ago I made a conscious effort to change and I feel my art is much better for it. It’s not easy, it’ll take practice, but it’s worth it. Love your art!

*FINAL WEEK OF VOTING*
“Everybody’s favourite dragon: playful, loyal, intelligent, and adorable! Working together with my father and my best friend, we created a costume that we feel captures all of Toothless’ very best qualities. Featuring a completely customised hoodie, expanding wings, and an endearing mask.”
Hello! The final week of voting for the morphsuits.com ‘Get Morph Famous’ competition is upon us!
According to the rules, the top 100 voted costumes will go forward into the next round, where they will be judged by a panel. The overall winner receives a $10,000 cash prize and has their costume made into a product, which they then get royalties from. The category winners receive a $1,000 cash prize and royalties as well. I’m currently sixth place in terms of votes, but have a feeling there will be a lot of newcomers and high voters in this final week.
Please help me out, either by voting HERE if you like my costume, or by signal boosting this post! You do need to register to vote, but you can do it really easily with a facebook account or email. You can see other photos of my costume here.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s voted or signal boosted so far.

Yo guys! go help my friend out and win this thing! They worked super hard on this and its an awesome cosplay!
